"I Bleed Dark -

Poems About Pain, Life, Heavy Metal and Jesus Christ"

Penned over a period of years by a man living in chronic pain and his young son, this atypical spiritual poetry book is a startlingly visceral series of transient images, seen through dusty windows, flying swiftly by on the authors’ personal road to righteousness.

So much more than just heavy metal poems, the majority of the book deals with the joy and pain of living. The authors' entertain tales of love, life and loss; of sin and salvation; of darkness and damnation; of light and laughter.

Their art springs forth from the unforced rhythm of the soul – the cry of tell-tale hearts, plagued by darkness and shrouded in light.

The works in this volume scream in pain, anger, and above all, hope. It’s raw, real, and uncompromising. And it is impossible to read without being stirred.

Rob and Trey are metal bards with an incredible talent.

This is poetry which speaks to the tough experience of walking in Christ in a world that just doesn’t work right. The Weddle’s are perhaps the only ones out there who are able to capture the spirit of metal and bring it to the service of tough spiritual issues. What results from both Rob and Trey, each in his unique way, is a voice a Christian man can trust. These poems are urgent and brutally honest. That hope overcomes all is a testament to Christ’s ultimate victory, and the authors’ ability to see it through the pain and angst.

Each of these men demonstrate sage wisdom and skill that go beyond his years, causing the reader to wonder, “Which is the father, and which is the son?”
